First of all, you don’t have to pay to play this game. You can play it for free, but your character will have limitations, especially later on in the game, but you can still play it for free!
Another thing left out here is the endless variety and number of different tactics you can try in building your Main. You can also, once you’ve leveled your characters to almost as high as they can go, rebirth the character with a 1 point bonus per rebirth which, after playing for however long the game’s been out now gives one a really excellent bonus. I will admit this game is best played with friends, or if you don’t have friends that want to play, then making friends in the game and playing with them. The more people in the battle on your side, the better off you are.
I think this game has long been underrated and heartily underappreciated. The fact that there are just so many different ways to approach the game always leaves the game fresh with something new you can try in your next incarnation.
Of course, as always, this is all JMO, but considering the number of hours of entertainment I get out of it (if you play an hour a day, you’re paying roughly $0.50/hour for entertainment, a rate difficult to find in today’s entertainment market no matter what the medium. Seeing a movie in the theatre is $5/hour, buying any of today’s console games might produce about $1/hour for a reasonably good game, and is significantly more expensive for games which turn out to be not so good. If you’re like me, and play, when I play, 3-4 hours a day, probably 5 days a week (there are bonuses for logging in every day, even if you only play in one battle), I’m paying about $0.05/hour, and I don’t know any other form of entertainment, let alone game which can remain as fun for so long for so little money, and that’s if you pay.
