Entropia Universe

The Entropia Universe is a direct continuation of Project Entropia and is a massive virtual universe with a real cash economy.

The Entropia Universe (Or EU for short), is an online role playing game set in the future but with an economy with a twist!
The economy in EU is directly linked to the US Dollar. 10 PED (Ingame Money) equals $1 . You can cash in real money as well as cash out. Almost everything in the game costs but there is potential for revenue everywhere. For example, a hunter may decide to kill creatures using a weapon (which decays) and fire ammo (which costs). Once the creature is dead, the hunter can loot the creater and claim anything he finds. Hunting isn't the only profession, you can also Mine, Craft, Trade, Colour or Tame Animals. Of couse, there are many more options but what you choose is up to you.

There is no class system in EU, everyone starts out equal with level 1 in all skills. They can choose to specialise in 1 skill area (E.g Crafting Skills) or skill up in everything. EU is skill based and there is no level cap, levels just get progressively harder to gain as they rise though. You can get skills by performing the actions, e.g gain rifle skill by firing a rifle.

Recently, a miner found a deposit worth 158,000PED ($15,800)! The highest ever recorded.
EU has also grabbed headlines over the sale of virtual estates. The first one, Treasure Island, in early 2005 sold for $23,500. The owner of this island has already made back his investment and is now earning off virtual land, with overheads of ~$10 per day max!

You can deposit real world money for game items or make money in the game itself. The game currency is called PED or Project Entropy Dollar.

Your Character

When you first log in you can create your characters and give it features. It works just like any other character creating system where you can set facial features and so on. Once you enter the game world you find yourself with nothing. Your character will only possess a simple jumpsuit and no armor, no weapon, or anything else. This can leave a person wondering just what to do in this giant world.

Exploring The World And Making Money

Unless you have deposited money into this game as a new player you only have one way to make any money. You will take up a process called "sweating." This process evolves going into a trance and sweating creatures for vials of sweat which can be sold to the players. Note that you can only sell this sweat to players and not on the market so you need to find buyers for it. This sweating takes a long time when you are new and you will die numerous times to the creatures around you. You can team up with other players so the animal doesn't hit you as much and you can sweat together. I found this process to be about as much fun as watching paint dry and is not a very exciting way to make your way through a new game. More experienced players can also become your mentor and help you somewhat but they can sometimes be difficult to find. In the main city area where you first arrive you can find players selling goods or you can buy them at the auction center. Once you have enough sweat you can buy a weapon and some ammunition for it. Even with a weapon you will be very weak and will die very often. As you kill creatures you may loot some items you can sell to other players for some PEDs.

If you have some PED you can also become a miner or crafter. It can be very expensive to do any of these activates and the experience levels take a long time. Unless you have hunting skills you cannot wander into the gaming world to mine because you will die quite quickly. To buy just the basic tools to do these activities takes quite a bit of PED to get started. Making money in this game is very frustrating and only benefits people who deposit real life currency into this game.
If your character gets advanced enough and you can tackle larger creatures you may get loot which is called a global. This will give you some money and on occasion a rare or expensive item. While this may sound good you will often spend all this money you make quite quickly after you receive it.

Items And Decay

Another frustrating part of this game is that all your items decay. The lower priced items don't decay very much but the expensive items suffer from severe decay. You can find items that don't decay but these are usually extremely expensive and out of reach for the basic player. Some items are also limited use and will die completely once they have decayed. This provides more frustration for the average player. You may save your money for a good weapon, use it a few times and then it is worthless. You can often only hunt for a while and then have to repair everything in one of the bases in the game. Common things that normally loot well in other games like weapons and armor, don't loot very well in this game. You may go through quite a bit of ammunition before you get any good loot. Everything costs money in this game from ammunition ,armor, healing devices, and repairing the constant decay. Any profit you make goes into maintaining your character.

Advancement

If you play long enough you may get to the stage where you an afford good gear and weapons but this really isn't possible without depositing real life currency quite often. You will also not find any quests besides one against robots to do at all. Killing endless creature or trying to craft can get boring after a while. You can buy land and housing or a shop to sell goods but this too is far out of reach for the average player. There are also no vehicles so unless you have the skills to teleport yourself to other areas you will have to run through endless creatures.
If you have the time or money to spend endless hours in this game developing your character then this game might be for you. I cannot recommend Entropia Universe to the average player. The game does look nice and the world is big but it is very frustrating to play.

For more information about EU, visit http://www.entropia-universe.com and try it out. It's free to download and play but you have to deposit (or do tedious, boring tasks to earn very little) to get ingame currency.
So now you can play a game and have the potential to earn!

Martial Heroes

Get ready to dive into the world of Martial Heroes, and for all of you who think that this is "just another free, anime MMO", you are desperately wrong, my friend. Martial Heroes features huge, extensive worlds, (yes, it's not all just on one map). Worlds include dark dungeons, open fields, snowy mountain caps, lava pits, sand dunes, and bustling cities. Much more indepth then most MMOs, there are weekly guild and faction wars, war zones, and pk safe zones. Lots of players and guilds, plus two side to go (lawful and evil) make for one thrill of a ride as you dive into the realm which is Martial Heroes. On a side note, Martial Heroes is free to play and pledges to ALWAYS be free to play. It will never become pay to play. The graphics are little short of unbelievable. These graphics would pass inspection even in a game in which you would have to buy, or subscribe to. They are around that of Dungeon Siege, if you guys are familiar with that game. Perhaps a &q
