Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli said that the Crysis 3 is planned to be DX11 only, destroying the hopes of people running DX10 video cards who had previously expected Crysis 3 to run on a DX11 renderer but still support DX10 just like Crysis 2.
However, do you remember Crysis: Warhead?
Back then, Crytek decided that the gamers will need to upgrade their DX9 systems in order to play on enthusiast video setting.
It was only a matter of time before someone discovered a way to bypass Crytek`s marketing nonsense that supported Vista and new $$$ graphics cards.
The same thing is happening now, although some things are different in Crysis 3.
Crysis 3 brings us fancy video rendering features like Tessellation and Ambient Occlusion that are DX11 exclusive.
But what if you have an older GPU setup like GTX 295 which is a dual GPU card and you really don`t wanna buy an expensive new card that is DX11 capable just to be able to play Crysis 3?
Well, there is a solution for that and it`s called the Crysis 3 DX10 hack.
Crysis 3 DX10 hack will let you play the game on Direct X 10 capable video card by patching and replacing some of Direct X libraries in the Crysis 3 game folder.
That means that system Direct X files will remain untouched.
Crysis 3 DX10 hack will lift up DX restriction in Crysis 3, but there are some drawbacks, like no improved Tessellation (DX11 only) and Ambient Occlusion will be completely disabled.

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Open Crysis 3 DX10 Hack archive
2. Extract all files to the Crysis 3 root game folder
3. Run Install.bat
4. Done
There is also an Uninstall.bat in case you have decided to replace your video card with the DX11 one.

ReplyDeleteIt seems thats main trick of crysis 3 to support DX10 appears at crysis 3 derictory,open folder names S3 there is file called DXlibs.pak but its empty and thats probably why crysis 3 cannot run on DX10 video card...
ReplyDeleteSomebody who smart enough should be able to find out what must go there and obveously thats what salvages a problem with Crysis 3...
I was doing test run with that file and tried to extract data from it but there is nothing to extract from there,Crytec deleted that file content and made it empty this is probably why Crysis 3 only runs on DX11 render only..
In theory if support for DX10 cards added Crysis 3 will run on DX10 video cards,as for me I dont see any differances between DX10 and DX11...
My DX10 video card run most on all games but crysis 3 thats a news i see a first time,seems thats my PC cannot support DX11 video cards,they runs but their chipsets is unrecognised in system and further functionality in Nvidia panel unrecognisable...
So please try to verify what with that DX10libs.pak file all about..
We have oportunity to make Crysis 3 playable in majority of DX10 cards..
I hate when Crytec make a new game and not mensioned I spand 60 bucks on game have to spand 75 extra for video card and wait a minute more for new PC system,is that game woth to playing??
This game is becomes super expansive and totally not worth to play becouse of Crytec favors alot to Nvidia and their new video card series..
